I disagree. Sometimes even stupid names can feed your brain's creativity
and help to get *the* idea for the perfect name.
I'm going to add a rubbish bin at the bottom for names not seriously
and sustainably moulded.

Ciao! :-)

I agree with the disagreement ;) ... feel free to make suggestions
within the next days, after thats settled we scratch out the ones which
are really improper (taken by or similar to other projects, bad
language etc)

With whats left we then discuss and decide more seriously.

I suggest that the final decision will not be a vote and decided by the
people who are actually involved in the project (this could be you, we
need helpers!).

Focus on the user experience (the user here being the video editor). What's
in it for them to use Cin3?

2008-01-25 Thread Richard Spindler
I was already thinking about that, and I was trying to come up with
the most offensive name possible, unfortunatly I did not come very
far. ;-)

I suggest and vote for:

pornedit

After doing a quick and insufficient freshmeat and apt-cache research,
I think that this name is not yet taken by any other unix/opensource
project.

But this is not my project, so the final decision for the name change
is actually some one elses. ;-)

Cheers,
and have fun

I also had this in my mind. I consider cin-3 an inofficial name for now, I'll
vote for finding another name for the project once it gets public.

I am glad you asked. Cin3 is a not even a fork of Cinelerra, it's a
rewrite.

It's about time to get another name. We needed that extra push.
