Re: WAN switching Exam

2001-01-16 Thread Charlemagne

I would not reccomend this track. Cisco is phasing
out this exam, and replacing it with something else.

Also, you need some pretty expensive equipment, ie
PBXs, BGX or BPX Routers, and so forth to even have a
shot at a CCIE WAN Switching Cert.

Are there any good books for the CCNA Wan switching
 exam? Is it a useful
cert in any case--ie are companies looking for it at
 all or even know it
exists? The exam outline looked pretty much like
CCNA with some of the stuff
from CCNP thrown in but not much. Has anyone
 actually taken the test?

 thanks

Please don't lie on resumes

2000-10-27 Thread Charlemagne

Everyone,

Don't put down lies or exaggerate on your resumes.
You will be uncovered. Things like, "Very Familiar
with OSPF" leave you open to questions like "Explain
the problems with OSPF over Frame-Relay partial mesh
networks". If your very familiar, then you know the
answer to that question. If you have OSPF all over
your resume and can't answer that, potential employers
will probably not hire you. Be honest, and your
chances of getting that job become greater.

Kamoto

Re: Passed BCRAN today!!

2000-07-11 Thread Charlemagne

Don't undervalue X.25. It is still in use within
the US, but in Europe and other places around the
globe, X.25 is very widely used. As Cisco is a global
company, your certification should be globally
based and not based on what is in use in the US
today.

Just passed the BCRAN today. I used the Cisco
 Press Builiding Cisco Remote
Access Networks book and the boson exams. The test
 was easier than the
others (ACRC, CLSC). I was suprised to find so
 many x25 questions in such
 a
new exam. Cant actually tell you any questions but
 I would know you ISDN
commands, X25, and Frame-Relay. Now on to CIT!!!
