SWAP DLCI and Gateway PVC
Can anyone tell me more on SWAP DLCI and Gateway PVC ? I was told Gateway PVC does not need to swap DLCI ? If there is a need to change the IP Address, what is the proper procedure without causing node failure ? Hi Said, DLCI is locally significant to the router. However, from the switch point of view, the DLCI defined on the port is actually pointing to the router on other end of the PVC. I was told this was called SWAP DLCI. Is that true ? Also, I was told there are some PVCs are called gateway PVC. DLSW+ [7:8116]
I am using DLSW to transport SNA traffic over Frame relay network. There are AS/400 on the hub sites and Lotus notes (using NetBios) on all remote sites running on the network. The serial interface of the hub site router keeps on receiving broadcast. What does this broadcast come from ? Are they netbios broadcast from the remote netbios broadcast ?
