CCIE lab prep. Is there a syllabus? [7:8385]
I just passed the CCIE RS written, and prepared for this exam using the road map posted on the Cisco web site. Is there a similar document for the lab? I asked one of the CCIE's here at work, and he told me to study Everything. Needless to say, this was not helpful. Is there something that will place some specific boundaries on what you need to study? RE: SNMP and password recovery?? [7:5852]
Would it also be possible to use SNMP to copy the config from the router to the TFTP server, remove the service password encryption command from the config, and replace those encrypted password statements with new ones that aren't encrypted? Once the new config has been re-installed on the router, then key in the service password encrypt command to scramble them. Would this work as well? A suggestion when posting answers to questions. [7:6042]
Can I make a suggestion that might help to improve the usefulness of this site? If someone is going to post an answer to a question on this web site, can they make sure that they post a reference where one can look up the answer / explanation? I've seen a number of answers to questions that either weren't correct, or missed the key points that are needed to understand the issue. If we post a reference to either a web page (Cisco TAC), or a page in a book (ie Comer Vol 1, pgs 120 - 125), we can garner enough material to truly understand the associated topic instead of just memorizing an answer that may or may not be correct.
