Re: Staic Routes on 1605 Router [7:52340]

2002-09-01 Thread Craig Robertson

Hi again guys,
Well after checking all the solutions offered, i am still in the same boat.
I am not that new to cisco routers, however, this one is giving me a little
bit of grief.

I cannot ping the ethernet1 interface (10.128.52.1) from a pc directly
connected to it, all on the same subnet. I have tired connecting via a
small hub, both is the uplink on and off, and via a crossover cable.
However, if i change the IP address on this interface to be part of our
internal network, and connect from a cisco switch, the port works fine.
Therefore it must be my config, which is below.

|10.128.52.0|===|10.1.1.0|

Can ping 10.1.1.18 (ethernet0 IP address) from 10.1.1.0 network
Can ping 10.128.52.1 (ethernet1 IP address) from 10.1.1.0 network
Can NOT ping 10.128.52.1 from 10.128.52.0 network
Can NOT ping anything host on 10.128.52.0 network from 10.1.1.0 network

My only conclusion is the way i have 'connected' to network. Ethernet1 is
connected to a 3Com FastEthernet hub via a CAT5 straight through cable. I
have also tried this config using a crossover cable, with the same results.
Can anyone just confirm that if i watned to ping Ethernet1 interface
(10.128.52.1) from the 10.128.52.0 network, both through a hub or directly
to the interface, how would this be done?

Thanks again guys, prob a simple solution that is starring me in the face.
Regards
Craig

Sorry guys, the address of the PC is 10.128.52.101, not "258". Nice typo
hey :-)
Thanks

Staic Routes on 1605 Router [7:52340]

2002-08-29 Thread Craig Robertson

Hi guys,
I am having a problem with routing on a Cisco1605 router. Ethernet0 is set
to 10.1.1.17 255.255.255.0 and ethernet1 is set to 10.128.52.1 255.255.255.0
My problem is:

>From the 10.1.1.0 network i can ping 10.1.1.17 (ethernet0)
>From the 10.1.1.0 network i can ping 10.128.52.1 (ethernet1)
>From the 10.1.1.0 network I can NOT ping 10.258.52.101 (pc on subnet)

I have enabled ip routing on the router, however, nothing has changed.

Can anyone please advise of the command(s) for a static route, if indeed
this is the problem. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks
