RE: FW: CCO practice questions
Just for future reference the Cisco study questions can be found at http://www.cisco.com/cgi-bin/front.x/wwtraining/colt/ColtLogin.pl You do need a CCO login and there are alot of different practice tests. Actually you will not be able to find practice questions for cisco test as in microsoft test. Yes it makes the prep. period harder. The best way the prepare is to read as much cisco press book as possible. There are few independent publisher with good books. I can't remember thier name now. But still you can check with www.certificationzone.com . they have perp tests based on their whitepapers (you need subscription for full access). Use it to polish your knowledge. Well this is interesting the Cisco Trade books all are coming with cds but the routing boot is not out yet from Cisco Trade isbn#1587200015 due January 2001 the book someone was talking about earlier what published by Macmillan Technical Publishing and it did do not come with a cd. So to answer your question, NO this book with this isbn#1578702283 does not come with a cd but if you get the Cisco Trade books not the Macmillan Technical Publishing they all are coming with CDs. I have put all the isbn #'s here for you to reference and until Cisco gets their Cisco Press web site back up i am unable to find the Cisco Trade for the Support exam but i find it odd that Macmillan Technical Publishing puts out a cd for the Support exam and not one for the routing exam go figure Switching:158727 Routing:1587200015 Remote:1587200031 Support:0735709955 (this is not Cisco Trade this is Macmillan Technical Publishing that comes with a cd) check this site out there is three pages of books. http://shop.barnesandnoble.com/booksearch/results.asp?userid=1NM0G4OVOEmscs sid=V1G0DPM4PHEQ9GFMSRPSW1BEQQ07EG83WRD=ccnpOPR=ASRT=SSAT=1 -Original Message- From: Dyland Desmarais [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Friday, November 24, 2000 7:48 PM To: 'Faxon, James' Subject: RE: I just want to make sure we're talking about the same book here. if pin 1 attaches to pin 8 and so on would this mean that it is in fact a rollover cable?? plus i just ran into an issue with and external modem hook up that required a rollover cable and in indeed we where able to use the console cable for this. -Original Message- From: Shahir Boshra [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Thursday, November 23, 2000 6:52 AM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: Stupid Cat 5xxx question well, the cable is the same cisco RJ-45 cable used for any console. it's in fact "inverted" meaning pin1 attaches to pin 8 of the other side and so on. FW: Need info on VPN.
This is another great resource for information it is actually the Cisco recommended reading for the CCIE. check it out lots of good stuff http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/625/ccie/certifications/routing.html http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/625/ccie/certifications/routing.html -Original Message- From: Peter Van Oene [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Tuesday, November 21, 2000 10:47 AM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: RE: Need info on VPN. this rfc pertains to service provider vpn's leveraging mpls/bgp implementations. Its likely a fairly complex topic for those who are interested in a general understanding of the "vpn" concept. I will personally suggest that vpn is one of the more overused and ambiguous terms floating around these days "thank you multi million dollar marketing machines". I would suggest picking up a basic book on vpns and focusing on various encryption/authentication methods. Spending some time on the IPSec suite might prove beneficial. I would also suggest that in the time it took to ask the question, a search on any internet search engine would likely have delivered countless resources :) Pete *** REPLY SEPARATOR *** On 11/21/2000 at 5:20 PM Ikpasa, Kerry wrote: Read RFC 2547 Cheers Kerry -Original Message- From: Patrick Bass [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: 21 November 2000 4:31 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: Need info on VPN. http://www.cisco.com/public/vpn.html http://www.cisco.com/public/vpn.html ""karthikeyan"" [EMAIL PROTECTED] mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote in message 015101c053a4$98a02d30$[EMAIL PROTECTED]">news:015101c053a4$98a02d30$[EMAIL PROTECTED] 015101c053a4$98a02d30$[EMAIL PROTECTED]">news:015101c053a4$98a02d30$[EMAIL PROTECTED] ... re:MLS hardware or software
Can someone pls explain to me why they say that switches running MLS can route packets and rewrite packet headers in hardware? I know that mutilayer switches use ASIC but is this still not software based? Even with a integrated circuit I thought there would still be 'management' software running just so that the IC knows what to do, and if not can someone pls tell me how this is so or am I looking to deep into this and they say "hardware based" because its a piece of silicon soldered on a board.? _ FAQ, list archives, and subscription info: http://www.groupstudy.com/list/cisco.html Report misconduct and Nondisclosure violations to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
