Unable to access MS Outlook using IPSec Lan-to-Lan [7:48482]

2002-07-10 Thread George Kallingal

We have an IPSec LAN-to-LAN connection between two Cisco VPN 3000
Concentrators and for some strange reason, MS Outlook is unable to connect
to the Exchange server on the other side of the tunnel. All other traffic
seems to travel fine, and we know for a fact that the mailboxes are
accessible locally.

Has anyone experienced such a problem and found a solution?

George

Difference between stacking and interconnecting switches [7:46061]

2002-06-07 Thread George Kallingal

This may be a very basic question, but can someone explain what is the
difference between stacking and interconnecting.

I am looking into purchasing two Catalyst 2950T-24s. Now I know that you
can connect the two catalysts using a crossover cable, but is that using the
uplink port or any of the ethernet ports. Looking at some of the
documentation for the 2950, I see references to stacking.

I need to lay off the coffee

Using Catalyst 2950 switch [7:46062]

2002-06-07 Thread George Kallingal

I want to use the Catalyst 2950T-24 in my Windows NT/2000 and Linux network.
According to the specs, it states that it does provide 10/100 autosensing.
I wanted to know if anyone has run into problem with the autosensing
feature. Or should duplex be hardcoded?

Thanks.

PPTP outbound through PIX [7:46078]

2002-06-07 Thread George Kallingal

Is it possible to allow outbound connection to a Microsoft VPN Server (using
MS PPTP) from a client machine behind a PIX 520 (IOS 5.2)?

If so, what are the commands needed to configure the PIX.

Diagram:

client PC - PIX Internet --- VPN server

Thanks.

Cisco VPN and Microsoft PPTP on same computer [7:31463]

2002-01-09 Thread George Kallingal

It appears that when the Cisco VPN Client is installed on a computer with
Microsoft PPTP installed, the MS PPTP connection becomes exceedingly slow.
The computer is Windows 2000 Professional SP2.

Does anyone know of a workaround? Or do they have to be on separate
machines?

Cisco VPN behind Windows 200 ICS [7:27358]

2001-11-26 Thread George Kallingal

Is anyone aware of a known incompatibility with Windows 2000 Pro Internet
Connection Sharing and the Cisco VPN client. It would appear that I connect
to the concentrator but there isn't any traffic going across the pipe.

My configuration is as such

Computer w/ Cisco VPN client -- Win2K w/ICS -- Internet

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Cisco VPN Client [7:19858]

2001-09-13 Thread George Kallingal

I have a question about the Cisco VPN Client software and how it binds its
driver to a network card.

We have an NT server that we are connecting to a remote network using the
Cisco VPN Client (to a Concentrator 3000, I believe). Upon connection
through the VPN, I lose connectivity to the other servers on the local
network. Is there a way to maintain the local area connection while
connected over VPN? I tried to multi-home the server and unbind the DNE
driver for one network card, but that just disabled the network card.

Has anyone experienced this before? Are there any workarounds? Fixes? Or
does this require a call to Cisco TAC?

Thanks.

George

Interpreting image files [7:14581]

2001-08-01 Thread George Kallingal

Can anyone point me to a link/URL that has a list to decipher all the
symbols found on IOS system image files (for example,
c2500-j-l.112-20.P.bin)?

I did a quick search on Cisco's website, but came up empty.

Thanks.
