Packet Loss on one Interface.

2001-03-08 Thread Gunjan Mathur

Hi,
I have two WAN linkf from different ISP's. When I try
to traceroute my WAN address from Internet then I find
packet loss on one interface but second interface work
without any loss.
Waht colud be the reason of this packet loss and how I
can sole this.

My structure is like this and router is 2621

ISP1
---|S0/0--FA0/0|--
---|S0/1--FA0/1|--
ISP2

When I ping my s0/1 interface from FA0/0 then it tooks
more then 500 ms and same vice versa (from FA0/1 to
S0/0 took the same)
What is the reason of this ?

Thanks

Time delay

2000-12-12 Thread Gunjan Mathur

Hi,

I'm facing problem of delay in my router, I have 2621
(2WAN , 2 LAN ports), conf. is like :
I have two WAN connection from two different ISP's.

s0/0 --- IP of 1st ISP
fa0/0 -- IP of 1st ISP

s0/1 --- IP of 2nd ISP
fa0/1 -- IP of 2nd ISP

when i implement ROUTE-MAP on fa0/0 for s0/1, that
mean all traffic comming from fa0/0 goes out from s0/1
then my router took nearly 800-900ms to route the
packet from fa0/0 to next hop of s0/1, while fa0/1 to
next hop of s0/1 took less then 10ms.

What could be the reason & how I can solve this

Thanks

Two WAN Links

2000-09-18 Thread Gunjan Mathur

Hi,

I'm using Cisco2621 router with 2WAN and 2LAN. Right
now I have only one WAN link, and now going for second
link from another ISP.

(PPP)
ISP(1) -
  2621 - LAN
ISP(2) -
(PPP or HDLC)

my both ISP are using PPP, how I configure my router
to work with both, As I understand that BGP will do
the job, but my ISP does not support that.
How I configure my router in above senario.

TIA.

NAT on router... [7:6107]

2001-05-28 Thread Gunjan Mathur

Hi,

I'm trying to implement NAT on my router first time.
My problem is that I want to change one of my server
IP but some remote applications are using current IP,
so i have to route the traffic to new IP.

when I try to ping my nated server then ping does not
reply back but same time traceroute return the reply
till router itself, but my destination m/c the new ip
dose not appear in this traceroute. when i try this
from router then it reaches to new IP(destination m/c)
but ping still fails.
And when I try my service then it also fails.
What could be the reason of this and how I can solve
this or from where I can get the sample conf. of this
type of application. I also check the cisco site and
not get solved.

Bye

Delay on Interface [7:36996]

2002-03-01 Thread Gunjan Mathur

Hi Experts,

I have Cisco 2621, 2WAN & 2 LAN interfaces. Mostly
traffic of fa0/0 goes to s0/0 and fa0/1 goes to s0/1,
through IP policy route map commnd.

But if I divert traffic of fa0/1 to s0/0 or vis-versa,
then it took nearly 500ms to cross rache the WAN
interface.

What could be the problem and how can I can resolve
this?

Thanks a Lot in Advance.

VOIP Interface for 3600 ...!! [7:45358]

2002-05-29 Thread Gunjan Mathur

Hi All,

I wanted to know the hardware requirement for enabling
cisco router for Voice. We are planning to buy 3600
router and I'm not sure what card I buy to enable
this.
We are planning to connect PBX directly to router,
which mean VIC-2FXO is what I can think of but I could
not understand the utility of NM-2V, are we need this
to enable Voice over router?
Also if get T1 line then WIC-2T will server the
purpose or we need to buy anything else. or if we get
DSL connection then what card I need to start with.

Regards,

Re: SIP vs H323 [7:53852]

2002-09-23 Thread Gunjan Mathur

I tested one SIP equipement of vonage, and that was
far far better then any device using H323...that's the
reason I want to know the diff in between these two.
What I understand is SIP model works on www/internet
and h323 model is telephony, I believe this is the
main reason for the quality difference.

What you suggest...

Hi,

Can somebody tell me Advantages & disadvantages of

Strange Problem.

2000-10-16 Thread Gunjan Mathur at 9netave

Hi,

Today I got my second leased line and after that I
find very strange thing in traceroute command.

My IP rages are
45.x.x.x   from one ISP
162.x.x.x   from second ISP

My gateway which is doing NATting in ip range of
45.x.x.x
both of my lines are using Static routes.
Protocols are PPP & HDLC respectively.

I add a static route to my router
ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 162.x.x.x

That mean all the traffic should use 162.x.x.x
link.

then I used traceroute command to my next hop of
162.x.x.x from router console then it took less then
15ms to reach there.

But when I used traceroute command to my next hop of
162.x.x.x from my LAN then it took more then then
700ms to reach that hop.

what could be the reason of that.

TIA
