I'd be interested in something like this too, to use as a template.

Perhaps someone has a generic dummy security policy from a class or
something they can share.

Hi All,

does any one have a copy of a security policy (like a corporate security
outline for the company) that they are willing to share, so I can create
one
using that as a template/guide ?

Thanks all

this just in specific 12.1 Development Test images?

DFW Study Group [7:45850]

2002-06-05 Thread Mark Villanova

The DFW Cisco Users group doesn't seem to want to list this study group so I
thought I'd post it here. We have a group that is just finishing up the
BSCN/BSCI and will shortly be moving on to the BCMSN an will continue
through BCRAN and CIT. We need more people to get the most out of it since
we've had a few people decide not to continue the CCNP/CCIP path. We have a
nice lab available to us and a really great location where we even have
access to the lab on days/nights when there is no meeting. I will also be
starting up a Cisco Security Specialist 1 study group shortly at the same
location with access to the same lab which does include a PIX, that is if I
can get enough people interested. The group meets at Computerminds, a local
training center http://www.computerminds.com, but this is not a class, its
just a study group. This has been a great group so far and I'd love to have
more people join in for the switching module. Anyone interested in either
the CCNP or CSS1 group drop me an email and I'll give the details.
Disclaimer!!! I DO NOT work for Computerminds or any other training center.
I'm just some guy studying for the certifications.

RE: certification salary posting [7:30237]

MCSE and CCNA in TX are well below this. I have both and am bringing home a
laughable salary. Though I relocated from San Diego,CA home of the inflated
salary.

The TX ones are WAY off according to classifieds the companies I've worked
for in the past. Instead of $70K+ for MCSE+I it's more like $35K+ unless
you get lucky find a large enough company that doesn't know any better ;)

I think it's been hashed out on this list before that this survey is
pretty
ridiculous. Some of the numbers might be slightly representative of the
big
cities, others are a laugh. A search of the archive should produce the
 various arguements.

RE: certification salary posting-a new direction [7:30237]

I have to say I think this is a grand idea, if people will give an accurate
account of their salary and their certifications. Lets have a survey
without the vendor or recruiting firm bias.

A new direction for the topic It seems that the consensus is that the
surveys are inflated. I cannot think of a better forum that would give an
accurate result than this one. And with the topic having strung on this
long, I must not be the only one on the list that has this on their mind
right now. Has the list ever did it's own survey to get a more realistic
view? Knowing that they aren't underpaid or as underpaid may remove some
strife from some, and let them focus more on studying

I don't know about the rest of you, but I feel that these salary surveys are
a load of crap. As Sam mentioned, he doesn't support the claims of the
salary survey and I agree with him. I think the name of these survey's
should be changed to Salary's that we wish we made. People are probably
ashamed of the salary's they actually make and inflate the crap out of them
for the survey. Just my opinion.
