George, The below URL's might help... Cisco 3000's
-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE- Hash: SHA1 All, This is for my personal lab First Question: Can I use a regular 25 pin DB cable to connect to a 3000's console port? If so, what terminal emulation software do you recommend? I have tried Tera Term pro and Hyperterminal (new version) and it appears to not allow using lpt1. I am wondering if I might have to hack together a 25 pin9 pin cable to connect to my console. Second Question: I have never used them but can I stick an AUI transeaver on the 15 pin ethernet connector and simply attach a cat5 cable to it? I suspect this will work...but you never know! :) I was also wondering if you folks knew of a reasonable place to purchase cables. Thanks... RE: Free 3com t-shirt
Folks, I would NOT reply to this. It traces back to: 216.46.241.214 Which registers to: Data Return in Arlington, Texas. Registered no less too: Jason Lockhead Whereas 3com's IP addy is: 192.156.136.22 appears to be in Santa Clara, California I have forwarded that original e-mail to 3com for verification. I imagine if it is legite everything is cool except for the blatant datamining...if it's not legit. I imagine 3com would take action. In my opinion, this is an attempt at data-mining for members info. I don't mind when Cisco does thisnot 3rd parties whom no one knows! Cheers, -Michael Vaughan MCP+I, MCSE, A+, Network+...
