 Greetings,

Any tips on improving high cpu utilization on a Cisco 7500?

 4 T1s
 1 HSSI
 1 TokenRing Port
 2 FastEthernet (Bundled, FEC)

Its running around 54%, any segmentations would be great.

 Thanks,

Yeah - I've had a similar problem with a 3640 running 11.x code. Up it
to 12.0.18 if you can and it should go away. Mine has been rock solid
 ever since.

Other things I noticed, besides the intermitant connectivity, would be
that the whole box would hang while you were on it for periods of time.
Then it come back like nothing ever happened.

 All related to memory allocation.

i have acase and i want some1 to help me to solve it a company has two sites
they want to have dedicated line with 128 kbps on site 1 and to make an ISDN
dial backup to the ISP then site 2 is connected to site 1 with dedicated line
of 128kbps and they have ISDN line their but they face sometimes problems
with
their line in site 1 so they need in case of failure of the ddicated liune
betwenn their site 1 and the ISP and the failure of site 1 ISDN backup to
dial
the ISP they want the ISDN line of site 2 to dial to the ISP and will be in
this case the gateway of two sites

the question now how can i trigger dial on ISDN line in site 2 in case of
failure of dedicated then failure of ISDNline of site 1 with the caution that

It would be interesting to see the document that recommends that
action - after all, WFQ is designed to help with low bandwidth links
without the need for complicated config.

It is more likely that it is recommended to turn off WFQ when using
ppp multilink across the ISDN connection. This is probably to avoid
any unnecessary fragment delay which could lead to malformed packets
 and retransmissions.

So in answer to your question, there is no real connection between
BRI performance and WFQ but cisco probably recommend disabling WFQ to
 avoid other problems.

 Cheers

 Charlie
