NatKit............ [7:32178]

2002-01-16 Thread Neal, Tim

Hi,

Whilst using the Network Analysis Toolkit 2.0 on a Sun Sparc, I was
dropped out to the Login Manager. Now I'm unable to login using the
"admin" user name and receive the error "Error contacting server"

I've tried rebooting the sparc, but still can't login - is the user db
corrupted ??

Any advise ?

Cheers
Tim

Off list, but help with High spec PC....... [7:23826]

2001-10-22 Thread Neal, Tim

Hi all,

I'm finally looking for a high spec PC for home, but don't want to go to the
space age and pay for it - if you know what I mean. I'm looking for mega
performance from current specs...Best options look like building the system
and I'm after some advise as where to go

1. The AMD Athlon chips are faster and much cheaper than building an
equivalent Pentium system?
2. There's not usually too much difference in the chip prices either, $10 or
so per 100 mhz so is it's worth getting the fastest available?? not me
thinks.
3. They have just brought out some new chips, palamino, which have more
cache, but are more expensive so I think maybe it's probably isn't worth
going with.
4. ECS Elitegroup motherboard - K7S5A. I'm looking at this as it seems a
good one as the chipset is fast and reliable.
5. AMD Athlon 1.4GHz. This is the 266Mhz bus version and is plenty fast
enough. The motherboard and CPU were $180 with another $20 for a decent
heatsink and fan for the cpu as they run quite hot.
6. Found 256meg 2100 DDR ram $36 - bargain! www.crucial.com
7. video - A Radeon 8500 !!! or Geforce2 video card. What's the story with
MX versions as they are performance crippled versions of the Geforce 2 GTS
and above. The Pro or Ultra are good and the Geforce3 is even better but
seems pricey...

It's a long time since I followed in this at a murky depth and any help is
appreciated

Cheers
Tim

Call Manager Domain. [7:54221]

2002-09-26 Thread Neal, Tim

All,

I'm currently running subscribe/publisher call managers happily on a 10.138
network. To access the Active Directory for web logons etc to IP phones we
need to add the two call managers to our local domain...Seems simple enough,
but are there any issues or possible problems I'm not aware of by doing this
???

please advise.

thx
Tim
