alias exec ct conf t
alias exec i show ip route
alias exec sib show ip int brief
alias exec sr show run
alias exec dr debug ip routing
alias exec u und all
alias exec cb clear int bri 0/0
alias exec si show isdn status

In my opinion this guy should not be made fun of AT ALL. Why do you
take it for granted that this guy has internet access whenever he wants
it? While we are at it , the cisco website can answer most questions
asked on this list, does that make people who ask foolish? I think not.
I think it does no harm to assume the next guy has some intelligence

I think the issue is not to have any outbound web traffic going via the
isdn (?). If this is so, what you need is policy routing. I'll givve

At this rate, you would think the designers of both unix and NT operating

You think ATM's run on NT? If that were true than there would be a "reboot"

What was your point ? That Multics sucks , and by the same token, therefore
Unix sucks and NT/W2K rules !!! At least, NT/W2K was based on a working
operating system. Anyone of you notice that Unix is all about ego ? If Unix
is finished in 1 month, why are there still people working on it ? On the
other hand, if Unix is perfect, why the hell are people working on it ? If
Unix promotes innovation, why is nobody using it ? Would you trust you ATM
machine to Linux ?

Hello,

I have 2 routers Remote and Central connected by 56k links and also isdn
bri(Lab enviroment)

On Remote, I have the standby command with delay for 5 5 configed. When I
shut the serial intf. on Remote, the bri does not come up.
But when I shut down the corresponding serial on the Central router, the bri
does come up on Remote and pings work!!

Just curious as to if this only works the way it is working now or should it
also work if I shut off the intf. on the Remote router.

Thank you.

I believe you can actually suppress the external routestake a look at
the link below. This actually shows you how to prevent accidental supression
of external routes, but with a little creativity, you can make it work for
you..

hi all,

thanks for all the replies - gave me some stuff to chew over

have been looking into this some more - it's still bugging me.

my investigations revealed:

* making the area stub or total-stub will not work as type-5s are not
permitted in the area. all routers set E=0 in the options field to denote
stub, and won't talk to non-stub neighbors. no fooling them apparently...

* summary-address will only summarize external routes originated on that
local router - hence cannot use to summarize for non-local type-5s

I cannot believe that it is not possible to do something as simple as this
without resorting to multiple OSPF instances and redistributing between
them!!

cheers

Re: Cheap Virtual Cisco Lab

2000-08-10 Thread Nnanna Obuba

Hey Brad,

You really need to take it easy with knocking other people's lab, just
because you are affiliated with ccbootcamp, no one says their lab is bad,
but hey an LS1010 is an LS1010 wherever it may be located...let people
decide which lab best suits their needs. I hope Paul is listening

problems with 3600

2000-08-18 Thread Nnanna Obuba

Hi all,

I'm having a problem with my 3600 router. When I boot it up,
the screen just shows a whole bunch of 'C's, the system light flashes to show
it's in rommon mode. 'm using this same hyperterminal config to access other
routers. Does any one have any idea what's going on?

Cheers

I of course assume, you need to spoof packets for a legitimate reason,
so I'll point you in the direction of a tool you can use for just
that...
Download and install TrafficGen from www.nantech.com .Limits you to
 packets to prevent malicious use

Re: RIP V1&V2 [7:48072]

2002-07-04 Thread Nnanna Obuba

The real issue here is the particular vendor's implementation of RIP
v1... If I Was to implement RIP v1 , I would certainly allow it to
accept routes from RIP v 2 speakers, this is for robustness and to
guard against misconfiguration bringing the entire network down.

Re: Failed at my 2 attemp [7:51889]

2002-08-22 Thread Nnanna Obuba

Not to sound too harsh, but if you have problems with
dlsw+,ipx, voice, bgp and atm... then you have a big problem.
The good news is that you have identified your areas of weakness..
For dlsw+, get the book by Tam Nam Kee...for BGP make sure you read
thru Halabi's book a few times (concentrate on the last few chapters)
and of course download TrafficGen at www.nantech.com/software . As for
the atm and voice, you may have to rent time on an online lab and just
practise..remember that's cheaper than the $1250 you pay for each lab
attempt...

50 screenshots [of actual] questions and
poring through a thousand questions -- you can't memorize a thousand
questions," the source said. "I think the certification programs
realize this."

Even so, the source added that this case may influence his/her site:
"I'm thinking of moving away from actual questions and more toward
study guides
