IOS and CheckPoint

2000-09-26 Thread Palis Michael

Hello all

I have a very strange problem with CheckPoint VPN
client and AS5300 access-servers. The problem is as follows

We have some clients that wants to use CheckPoint
VPN client for remote Access. Installing it on WIN95 works OK
with all our AS5300 acceess servers. Installing it
on WIN98 platform, CheckPoint VPN client works with some of our AS5xxx
access-servers and with other not. I notice that the access-servers that do not
allow WIN98 workstations to establish a VPN session have Cisco IOS 12.04XJ2
while the others that allows VPN sessions have Cisco IOS 11.3(6T) and
12.1T.

Note that their is no configuration concerning VPN
on any of the access-servers. What is confusing me is why with
WIN95 wdial-up workstation everything works fine while we have the
problem above only with WIN98 workstation. As far sa concern the VPN
client, CheckPoint claims that their is no difference on their client whether it
is installed on WIN95 or WIN98.

I believe that the problem is between IOS12.04XJ2
and WIN98 TCP/IP negotiation.

Any help will be appreciated

Applying Access-lists

2000-09-15 Thread Palis Michael

Is it better to apply access-lists for
incoming dialup users to the loopback interface or to the Ethernet of an AS5300
AS?

Access-lists

2000-09-15 Thread Palis Michael

Hello all.

We are  using some AS5300 for our
access-network. I need to deny some ports to the dialup users.
Where it is better to apply the access-lists?
To the Asynchronous group or the the Ethernet port.

I bielive that it is better to apply the
access-list to the asynchronous group but I am thinking whether this will
affect the performance of the dialup users.

Any information will be
appreciated

Access-lists

2000-05-18 Thread Palis Michael

I am configuring an access-list in oder to allow
only WWW and DNS to go into my net.

Here is the configuration

internetrouter--internal network

access list is

access-list 110 permit tcp any any eq
www
access-list 110 permit tcp any any eq
domain
access-list 110 permit udp any any eq
domain
access-list 110 deny ip any any

the access list in applied as inbound to serial
interface of the router
The problem is that user on the internal netwotk
cannot browse. I beileve that the above access-list denies the reply packets
from the internet.

Any suggestion will be appreciated
