Hi All
I agree I got all my certs using the Official Cisco Press Books, They are
also great books to keep for reference, and the Authors are brilliant and
have great experience in the relevant topics!

Because, offhand, I have only seen you bringing up the issue of 
people bringing up general management and tying it to power and 
money. Tradeoffs in the technical area of the value of certifications 
vs. academic training, especially early in one's career, seemed to be 
the scope of the original discussion. To the best of my knowledge, 
this list has never emphasized how to use technical skills to 
springboard into general management.

I don't disagree with that in the slightest, in the technical realm. 
But I question the relevance of even discussing whether it closes off 
general management opportuntities, which may not even be in 
networking.

I emphasize "perhaps". I mostly do things I like now. I don't feel 
driven to get an MBA -- but, believe me, I can do a financial 
presentation to a VC. That's something I've chosen to learn how to do 
on my own.

Hi All
 
I would like to take this opportunity to thank our Gracious Dear Lord Jesus
for guiding me and supporting me and giving me such a wonderful family to
support me I have completed my Design route by completing my CCDA and in
combination with my CID which Thank God I passed a couple of weeks ago I am
a CCDP, I must admit that these exams are by no means a slice of cake, they
are difficult and tricky, but by the grace of God I have pulled through and
completed the route, thanks to everybody's help on the group I wish you all
the Best for Christmas and may the new year bring you plenty of success!

Well as it would turn out it's my turn to write that awesome email...  I
just
got back from RTP today where after checking my email, I was awarded
CCIE#8387. What a journey/process this has been and I must say that I'm
relieved that it's now over.  After countless hours of study and practicing
on
the "rack" the reward was most definitely worth the sacrifice.

I didn't sleep a any last night as I awaited the results of my lab score
which
I was unable to check until 12 noon today. So on that note I'm off to catch
up
on the sleep that escaped me last night.

More to follow once I get rested up..
