Re: wrong subnet

2001-01-15 Thread cgs

Hello Dennis,
There is absolutely no issue with having the said IP Address, Netmask and
gateway. The subnet in this particular case is 10.1.244.0, The Valid host
address range is 10.1.244.1 to 10.1.245.254. The broadcast address for this
subnet will be 10.1.245.255.

S.Kalidasan

Re(2): Disappointed with ccnp!!

Hi,
Maybe there are many out there who need guidance to face an Interview with a
positive outlook. Could you please tell which Publication, who is the Author
etc. of this "Sweaty Palms"?

S.Kalidasan

 3. If you get the employer's attention, and get a chance to interview with
the company, you are not necessarily being judged on your technical
knowledge during that interview. You are being judged on how you present
yourself. Anytime that I am preparing to be interviewed, I read a book
called "Sweaty Palms". It explains a little about the psychology behind
the interview process, both what you are going through, and what the
interviewer is thinking when speaking to you.

Serial interface goes up and down

2000-12-19 Thread cgs

Hi all,

I am facing a similar problem. The Serail link s0 changes state. I noticed a
pattern. The line protocol is up for 10 secs and
down for next 20 secs and the loop contnues. Could anyone throw some light on
what could be the possible reasons for this. All replies are thankfully
acknowledged in advance.

S.Kalidasan

 Hi all,

I'm trying to configure a 2501. There's nothing in the flash. I configured
the E0 with an IP and connected it to a laptop. I'm trying to upload the

%LINEPROTO-5-UPDOWN: Line protocol on Interface Ethernet0, changed state to
 up
%LINEPROTO-5-UPDOWN: Line protocol on Interface Ethernet0, changed state to
 down

%LINEPROTO-5-UPDOWN: Line protocol on Interface Ethernet0, changed state to
 up
%LINEPROTO-5-UPDOWN: Line protocol on Interface Ethernet0, changed state to
 down

%LINEPROTO-5-UPDOWN: Line protocol on Interface Ethernet0, changed state to
 up
%LINEPROTO-5-UPDOWN: Line protocol on Interface Ethernet0, changed state to
 dow

 The prompt I'm at is : Lab_D(boot)œ

 Any ideas ?

 Thanks,

 Bharat

Re(2): A challenge

2000-12-18 Thread cgs

I guess the netmask for host A is wrongly given as 255.255.255.0 instead of
255.0.0.0

Below is how it "should" be configuredbut a mistake was made that
produced the results I typed. I am trying to get people to guess what
 mistake would cause that.

Here is an interesting challenge, that may not be so obvious to some of
  you.

You were told to configure a network as follows:

  10.1.1.1/8router
  10.1.1.2/8hostA gw 10.1.1.1
  10.1.1.3/8hostB gw 10.1.1.1
  10.1.1.4/8hostC gw 10.1.1.1

hostA cannot ping hostB or hostC. hostB and hostC have no problem
pinging
eachother however, but cannot ping hostA.

hostA does get a reply however from all hosts if it pings 10.1.1.255.
What do you suppose the problem is?

I'll let you know when someone posts the right answer.

  Brian
