Still having problems with Inter-vlan routing! Help! [7:10936]
Hi, I am still not able to get inter-vlan routing b/w 2 pc's connected to a Cat 5 switch and a 2620 router. Basically, I have 2 pc's connected to a Cat 5000, ip's, 30.1.1.30. def. gwy. 30.1.1.100 and 40.1.1.10 and def. gwy. 40.1.1.100 The sc0 on the swich is 30.1.1.50 and def. gwy. 30.1.1.100 On the 2620, I have 2 subif's, f0/0.1 at 30.1.1.100 and f0/0.40 at 40.1.1.100 and isl encap enabled. Port 2/11 on the Cat 5 has trunking enabled for the 2620. Ping works from pc1 (30.1.1.30). Can ping the Cat 5 and the 2620 router.( I assumed since the pc and the switch were in Vlan 1 by default, it worked). Ditto from the Cat5 itself and the router back to the pc. BUT cannot ping 40.1.1.100 from the 2nd pc and vice-versa from the router. Reloaded the router to see if it works. No luck. What is it I am missing on the switch to get this working?? Any help/advise would be gratefully accepted. Debug ip igrp events - error or notification msg??? [7:9480]
Hi, I have 6 routers connected back to back running on igrp 100. These routers are also connected to a common switch via Ethernet. The networks are unique for each Eth. and Ser. When I do a debug ip igrp trans or events on R1, I see the following msg. pop up received update from invalid source 30.1.1.1 Same on R2 for 10, 30, 40 etc. etc. BTW: The ethernets are 10.1.1.1, 20.1.1.1, 30.1.1.1 etc. etc. Is this an error msg. or notification? Is this due to the fact that all the routers are connected via serial and also via Ethernet to a common switch, and hence the error? Please advise. Thank you. Hi, When I do a traceroute www.cisco.com, I get a reply with 3 timings as in 13 193 ms 176 ms 181 ms www.cisco.com [198.133.219.25] What does 193ms 176ms and 181 ms stand for? SRTT?? Would someone kindly explain? Appletalk config. error, why?? [7:9478]
Hi, I configured 6 routers with appltalk routing and igrp. R1 has a cable range of 100-110 on E0 and a zone of CCIE1 and a cable-range of 1000-1000 and a zone of WAN for S0. R2 has a cable range of 200-210 on E0 and zone of CCIE2 and a cable-range of 1000-1000 and a zone of WAN for S0. R-3 - 300-310 for E0 etc. etc. till R6 - 600-610 The wan zones are all called WAN and the lan zones are unique.EG. CCIE# On R6 I get the following error msg. %AT-3-ZONEDISAGREE: Ethernet 0: AppleTalk interface disabled;zone list incompatible with 303.6 Also when I do a sh apple route, I don't see any other appl networks. On R1 I can see some apple networks and same on R2. What am I doing wrong? Are the zone names configured right? How about the cable ranges? Are they valid? Sorry, no clue about AT routing :-( Would someone please advise on how to fix this problem? Thank you. Debug not working via telnet [7:9019]
Hi all, I am trying to see the debug output on my routers via telnet sessions but am not having any luck. I first got the debug ip packet command to work but then it stopped working. No other debug commands will work. Eg. debug ip igrp trans I have the service timestamps commands issued along with the term mon command on the router running the telnet session. The ios ver. on this particular router is 11.0 (10c). Does the ios ver. make a difference or does something in particular have to be done on both routers? Please advise. ping r1.ccie.com now working!! [7:9022]
Hi all, I have a bunch of routers configured with a static hosts file with the ip host, no ip domain-look and ip domain-name ccie.com commands configured. When I ping r1 or ping R1 it works. But when I ping r1.ccie.com or R1.ccie.com I get an error msg.Unrecognized host or address or protocol not running. I have versions 11.1(7) and 11.2(7) running. Does the ios ver. make a diff. or is it something wrong configured on the routers? Please advise. Teltone ILS-1000 OR 2000?? [7:8866]
Hi all, I am in the process of purchasing an ISDN simulator. I see the Teltone ILS 1000 and 2000 listed on Ebay but am not sure which one I should be buying? Does anyone know the difference b/w the two? And which one is more better in terms of the CCIE Lab? Are there any others besides Teltone that one could buy? Thank you. Is this the same book club that sent me 3 books today? I don't even know how they got my name and address and without me even having the slightest idea as to why they sent me the books, A+, CCDA, Solaris Admin. Why in the world would I want these 3 books, A+ Did that 6 years back, Solaris Admin-What is it? And CCDA-No interest. If they had shipped me 3 CCIE books, I might have considered it-maybe. My question is has anyone is this group ever got such an offer without your knowledge and consent? And most important, what's the next step?
