Need Clarification about VPN Syslog messages.

2001-01-04 Thread karthikeyan

Hai ,
I'm a new bee to this VPN.
Please answer my queries,

1) How to make a router Crypto Enable? What is the IOS version that =
supports this ?

2) When will be the CRYPTO syslog messages pumped from a device ?i.e.. =
what sort of operations, we have to do, to make a router sending VPN =
messages?

3) Where can I get the materials on this VPN syslog area?

Thanx,

Hi,
If you want to use a single bit for subnetting , there by attaining =
maximum possible hosts for required two subnets , you can use it.
In this , only one bit is used for subnetting.Actually we can't use a =
single bit for subnetting with out this giving the=20
command the ip subnet-zero.

Consiedr this Class C addressing.
if you need 2 subnets with 126 hosts you can use it.

1101.1000.1000.X
In this ' X ' is the subnetting bit. zzz is the host bits.

the valid subnets are=20
1101.1000.1000.0
1101.1000.1000.1

Thx,
karthi

  You
can download and run a syslog server from your PC. I think Boson has one on
their web site - freebie. After installing it on your PC, (or you can run the
one available in most Unix systems) telnet to your router(s) and from a
config# type "logging 192.168.25.2" or the ip address of your PC in
which you installed the syslog server.

2000-09-08 Thread Ram Karthikeyan

Hi,
I am too in the same boat and am studying for BSCN.
The book you are mentioning is Routing TCP/IP by Jeff Doyle.
And for BGP coverage go for Internet Routing Architectures - By Basam
Halabi.

Both of them would be enough for BSCN.

Ram.

Hi all,

There was another book recommended for the BSCN exam (additional material) ,
I think it was by someone called Halabi (or something like that, pls correct
me if I'm wrong).

It's about protocols/routing IP. Do any of you know what the book is called?

Thanks in advance.
