Hi, If you want to use a single bit for subnetting , there by attaining = maximum possible hosts for required two subnets , you can use it. In this , only one bit is used for subnetting.Actually we can't use a = single bit for subnetting with out this giving the=20 command the ip subnet-zero. Re: need Info about Syslog message
Hi, Thanks for your reply. I just want to know how to write a syslog server of our own. In which port the messages are thrown and what's the format of that messages. Where can i get info about this? Thx, karthi - Original Message - From: Gordon Olson To: karthikeyan ; [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Thursday, November 23, 2000 9:04 PM Subject: RE: need Info about Syslog message You can download and run a syslog server from your PC. I think Boson has one on their web site - freebie. After installing it on your PC, (or you can run the one available in most Unix systems) telnet to your router(s) and from a config# type "logging 192.168.25.2" or the ip address of your PC in which you installed the syslog server. -Original Message-From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]]On Behalf Of karthikeyanSent: Thursday, November 23, 2000 2:29 AMTo: [EMAIL PROTECTED]Subject: need Info about Syslog message Hai Group, I want to know about the format of syslog messages thrown by the devices. Hi, I am too in the same boat and am studying for BSCN. The book you are mentioning is Routing TCP/IP by Jeff Doyle. And for BGP coverage go for Internet Routing Architectures - By Basam Halabi. Both of them would be enough for BSCN. Ram. -Original Message Date: Thu, 7 Sep 2000 15:39:27 +0200 From: Jean-Michel Roberts [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: RE: Study Materials for CCNP 2.0 Track? Hi all, There was another book recommended for the BSCN exam (additional material) , I think it was by someone called Halabi (or something like that, pls correct me if I'm wrong). It's about protocols/routing IP. Do any of you know what the book is called? Thanks in advance. Jean-Michel _ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com.
