2500 series DRAM ???? [7:57811]

2002-11-20 Thread Binh Ma
Hi to all members,

I have old 16mb DRAM modules and would like to reuse them on the 2500
series routers, but I'm a little unsure if the router will take it. Can
someone clarify will me what type of DRAM will the 2500 series router
take, non-parity or parity DRAM modules ?? And how can I tell if my 16mb
DRAM modules are parity or non-parity type ??

Thank-you members,

rgds,

Binh Ma

binh,

Heres my notes on 2500 memory... hopefully there
should be some stickers or wording on the chips/pcb
that help out finding out what you have.

2500 DRAM use ONLY:

 - 1x36 70ns(or faster) TIN SIMMS 4 meg
 - 4x36 70ns(or faster) TIN SIMM 16 meg

PARITY, not Nx32. And they must be electronically
'single-sided'.
Some simply don't work so shop/look around.

I just upgraded my lab with 2 more 2500's and I upgraded them mem in
them with this mem
http://www.compgeeks.com/details.asp?invtid=4X36FPM

It was only 9 bucks so I said what the hey and I got lucky it works. You
can also go to kg2.com and get cisco memory garaunteed to work but a bit
more expensive.
