ATM Question about LEC

LEC Client ID is unassigned.Why?

I'm no guru, but that's what I've seen when the LEC didn't or couldn't talk
to the LECS.  Usually, a config error, like a fat-fingered ATM address or
missing command on the LEC.

Actually it's not the LECS, but rather the LES.  The LECID is a unique identifier
assigned by the LES when the client joins the ELAN.  What does the LANE client status
and last failure reason show after issuing a 'show lane client int brief' command?  It
doesn't sound like the LEC is operational and this command may give you some clue as to
why.  Also, if you notice your LECID is a very high number, then you are constantly
losing your connection to the ELAN and re-joining, each time getting a new higher 
LECID.
