Re: ATM configuration !!! [7:9962]

2001-06-27 Thread NECATI ERTUGRUL

It seems your ATM connection is mapped to two different locations. Then you
should create two
point-to-point subinterfaces and don't use the mapping. A point-to-point
interface is just for one
connection only.

ATM configuration !!! [7:9962]

2001-06-26 Thread Sivaramakrishna Iyer Krishnan

Hi Robert,

I thought I configured my ATM correctly but apparently I am having some
problems. I am not sure what it might be

R1 (atm) (atm) R2.

conf of R1 (only relevant stuff)

interface ATM1/0/0
 ip address 1.1.10.1 255.255.255.0
 no ip directed-broadcast
 ip route-cache distributed
 ip ospf network point-to-point
 ip ospf cost 1
 no ip mroute-cache
 atm clock INTERNAL
 atm sonet stm-1
 atm pvc 64 64 64 aal5snap oam 10
 no atm enable-ilmi-trap
 no atm auto-configuration
 no atm ilmi-keepalive
 no atm address-registration
 no atm ilmi-enable
 map-group atm
 mpls traffic-eng tunnels
 tag-switching ip
 ip rsvp bandwidth 8 8

lost ...

What am I missing ?.

What does Incomplete mean in arp table ?.

You should use subinterfaces in your ATM configuration to piny itself. Due
to an unknown reason if
you don't use subinterfaces the router just can't ping itself.

Hi,

Can you be more specific and also explain how to define sub interfaces for
ATM ?.

are there any pointers I can look at for the CLIs ?.

thanks,
krishnan.

I am sending you a configuration example below :

 no ip address
 atm clock INTERNAL
 no atm ilmi-keepalive
!
interface ATM1/0.1 point-to-point
 bandwidth XXX
 ip address A.B.C.D 255.255.255.252

Hi ,

It says can't group on point-to-point interface .

How do I solve that ...

thanks,
krishnan.

Just carry your configurations to a subinterface!!
