Jeff, Just passed BCRAN exam on Sunday. Used Cisco Press BCRAN Exam Certification book and it was excellent. I advice to stay with Cisco Press all the way. Just use other books to clarify information. Sometimes Cisco wording can be difficult to read. Used the Cisco Press certification book and the regular course book. Has anyone used the newer Cisco Press Exam Prep Certification books? Just wondering on what book to purchase... also, any pros/cons with the Sybgress book? I used Todd's book and passed the BRCAN last week. Very good book. my study group is using BCRAN by Quiggle and Thomas - McGraw Hill (there are errors but an errata is available from the authors) also Remote Access Study Guide by Buchmann et al (Syngress). They balance each other quite well. You will find that one chapter in Quiggle maybe more detailed than Buchmann and vice versa. Quiggle is great for"hands-on" (case studies and tips on how to hook up a BCRAN lab)memory-charts and exam-tips. Buchmann appears to be more weighty but has a good layout for test prepping. Hi Anthony, I'm in the same shoes as you, but I have checked the archive files for this group study and the general opinion of the guysis to get the Building Cisco Remote Access Network by Catherine Paquet isbn 1578700914. I hope this helps or if anyone has anymore suggestions. Title: RE: Help for BCRAN books and amterial related The official Cisco book (Building Cisco Remote Access Networks, ISBN: 1578700914) was the only one I used to pass the 640-505. You can take the BCRAN without going through BSCN, as they cover different subjects. BSCN is very routing-oriented, while BCRAN covers alot more on ISDN, different access router models, and WAN technologies like X.25 frame-relay. Cheers good luck!
