>From what I understand this is true. I also believe there are two ways to get the certification. One way is to score high on the exam. For example, anyone scoring 950 or above on the CCNA is permitted to take the Instructor's exam. If you have not done this, you must take their course. My former instructors did so over a period of two summers. I believe the course was approx. 2 months total, though I could be wrong on the time.
