I suggest you call the administrator for the facility that you intend to write and ask. They tend to be very helpful in matters such as this. I would definitely study 12 builds though. >From listening to the guys @ work (I believe Cisco lists this too), it will be no less than 11.2 IOS. A coworker came back after his first attempt & changed all his lab routers to 11.2(18) Enterprise, to get use to the defaults. I'm guessing (actually I was told) the trick is to lock down all commands & not to allow the IOS to make any default decisions with your configuration intent. This is done by stating your Point to Multipoint or Frame-Relay Intf-Type (there is a small list I am building) The different IOS should not be an issue. Of course Louie is definitely the authoritarian here, having just passed the lab. My only concern is in that I'm not sure the # of Ayn Rand books he read, to Cisco Press books :o) Phil - Original Message - From: Louie Belt To: Sent: Friday, April 27, 2001 9:12 AM Subject: RE: CCIE IOS version?? Ayn Rand is preferable to Cisco Press books. I guess that depends on what interests you. I found Ayn Rand to be an excellent replacement for sleeping pills but any kind of networking book can keep me up all night.
