Re: CCIE written [7:7411]

2001-07-22 Thread Nick Lesewski

I studied from all three and I think they all had good material. The test is
$300 to fail; you can get all three bosons for 1/3 of that. I'd say get all
three and spend your time with them; this is the hardest of the Cisco tests
and I wouldn't want to blow it to save $30.

I'd also take a look at the getting some of the books or study guides that
have come out recently. I wouldn't trust one source, no matter how good.

Just my $.02 (but I passed)

#1 and #2, written by the same author, are the best. Skip #3.

RE: CCIE written [7:7411]

2001-06-07 Thread McCallum, Robert

Do them all, although please don't expect a lot of questions being in the
exam. I done all three as well as practice. I reckon I had around 5 - 6
questions which were identical BUT these 5 - 6 questions were ridiculously
easy anyway. This IS a tough exam testing you on the principles of the
protocols. Simple things like TCP sequencing can get you unstuck if you
don't know it. I also bought the book CCIE prep guide but it arrived after
I had taken the exam so I don't know how much help it would have been but
other candidates have found it very helpful.

Use all three. They each have their strong points. You'll thank me later.
Just make sure you truly understand the concepts. Memorizing answers will
not get you through the written

Re: CCIE written [7:7411]

2001-06-06 Thread Sean C.

I took the CCIE written back in late April and used Boson 1 and 2. They
were both excellent at preparing for the written. Of course, it all depends
on the pool of CCIE questions you draw for the test, but I think I had a few
more questions that were from Boson 1 rather than Boson 2.

Good luck,
Sean C.
