Brad,

I believe our list member when he says that he has that module working so
whether "it works" or not really isn't the issue.

The issue is how up to date information is on CCO. Especially when that is
our main resource for determining configuration etc.

I'm only pursuing this as far as I am because I have made what I think are
incorrect assumptions based on info found on CCO. A client doesn't care why
you were wrong - just that you were wrong. I can tell a client that hey! I
got it working in my lab but if it isn't blessed by Cisco - you can't get
maintenance.

This incident isn't my first problem with CCO documentation. It is very
easy to find conflicting information but sometimes very difficult to get
someone to investigate it, especially in a timely manner.

So it would be great if you report on whether it "works" but the real
question is whether it is supported for warranty purposes or even if TAC
will try to fix something that includes that module in a "non-supported"
platform.

Which is what Chris might find out for us - but even that won't be too
helpful except maybe to finally get someone to try a bit harder in getting
the proper info on CCO.

I know that many new products and IOS versions are hitting the site every
day but without co-ordination it will be difficult to use them effectively.

Another twist to this is that the router that is working now with the
module - the module was bought after the router. Did a reseller/partner
advise that the module worked or did the owner just plop it in there? In
either case - can the module be returned? Is it Cisco's fault that a
separate piece was bought and then installed although it is not supported?

This is the type of problem that inaccurate info can cause and with the
price of Cisco gear you don't like to mess around - let alone buying
something for a production network and finding out it doesn't work and
having to back out of an upgrade. Or worse, you build it and find out that
you can't get support for it! (even though you used Cisco provided
information)

Anyway, I can imagine that the list is getting tired of this thread, even
though I'm doing most of the complaining (or because of it) I know that I'm
getting tired of it...... so I'll just wait to see what Chris digs up.
