Sounds like the image is corrupted. You might find

 I upgraded the IOS on the 2950.
 now when it boots, I get a
 bad mzip file, unknown zip method.
 Any ideas?

I upgraded the IOS on the 2950.  now when it boots, I get a bad mzip file,
