Re: Certificationzone.com : This is a rip off [7:30560]
To avoid any appearance of conflict of interest, I let this through the moderation filter. Now, while I'm technical director for certzone, I haven't had anything to do with setting up the e-commerce part. You may have discovered an outright bug, and customer service, I'm sure, could help. I can't speak for the financial people either, but if you ask, they'll probably refund the prorated time -- about 9 1/2 hours of a one year subscription. But there is a lesson here relevant to router operations. As I say, I don't know the details of the e-commerce server that handles membership. As a consequence, I don't know exactly how its clock is set. While the certzone servers are physically in US Eastern time, they might be set to Zulu time. Look at any email message; the time is usually Zulu with an offset. When debugging router interactions, just being on the same time zone is something to check, and then, depending on how tight the interactions are, you may very well want to turn on NTP synchronization. Otherwise, you won't be sure about whether the chicken or the egg crossed the road first, or something like that. In the ongoing IETF BMWG work on routing convergence, we are hoping that NTP will be good enough to track protocol behavior, but some of the more statistically-minded researchers are worried that it will not. I'm hoping that most of our basic measurements can be done using NTP-synchronized routers as the source and sink of data, but other workers are pressing for GPS or other, more accurate time synchronization. But really...isn't the term ripoff a little strong? Or, should I say, no router rip :-) Happy new year. Hey Folks, Am l alone in this? Chuck, the problem is that the PC / Router / etc clock could achieve the same accuracy even with a stratum 1 reference.. Also, I believe that there is a issue about latency as well Sort of if I said NOW, do I mean NOW when I said it or do I mean NOW when you hear it.. :-)) . RE: CCIE certificationzone.com Mock Exam 754/1000
The Certification Zone exams are notoriously MORE difficult than the real thing. I don't think I got more than 600 or so on any of the practice tests I took, and it wasn't even close on my real thing. One has to take the Czone tests with the attitude that you are practicing thinking. You are practicing answering the question "what is the problem we are trying to solve?" To be honest, I would find it hard to believe there is a direct correlation with Czone scores and CCIE RS written scores. If you don't buy into the Czone approach, or if you just don't click with the way the writers approach things, you may find not only that you do poorly on Czone tests, but that you find yourself too discouraged and underprepared to do well on the real thing. Have you ever had a high school or college teacher, one you just didn't click with? And that lack of rapport hurt you in that class, I'm sure. On the other hand, have you ever have a teacher you really hit it off with? Someone you understood, and who understood you? If so, you probably did a LOT better in that class. Same with Certification Zone. If you are not the kind of person who wants to really master a subject, from the approach of pure protocol behaviour, pure theoretical understanding, you may find things difficult. In the couple of weeks prior to taking my written, I printed out each of the Czone practice tests I took. I went through them question by question, always asking myself what was going on, what behaviour was I observing. Although I never did all that well on the practice tests, as I was taking the real thing I found that by always thinking in terms of behaviour, I was able to answer a lot of questions that I might otherwise have found unanswerable. ( I did a lot of other things too, so this alone would not be enough ) Don't be discouraged by poor results on Czone practice tests. Keep asking yourself why the correct answer is what it is. Understand the principals and the behaviours. You will pass. ATM white-paper certificationzone.com
Hi, Just working my way through this quite excellent paper at the moment by Galina Pildush. Page 11, first paragraph (A4 - that is) "the throughput of an OC-3 link (155Mbps)is approximately 2.5 million cells per second." 155 * 10^6 = 15500 bits per second. 15500/8 = 19375000 bytes per second. 19375000/53 (48 payload + 5 byte header) = 365566 cells/second, approx 365 thousand cells/sec. Conversely to achieve a throughput of 2.5 million cells/second. 2.5 * 10^6 = 250 cells/sec 250 * 53 = 13250 bytes/sec 13250 * 8 = 106000 bits per sec Thus requiring a Gigabit pipe. Can someone check my logic ? Regards, Phil. Do You Yahoo!? Dave, CCPREP is excellent. They just reformatted their practice test format to more closely resemble the actual exam. and they provide lots of questions (180-300). In addition, you can drop a line to Mr. Rossi and get answers to that which perplexes you. Also available are some rather good white papers. Re: CCPREP.com and CERTIFICATIONZONE.com
My co-worker has a sub to CCPREP and CERTZONE but they are kind of pricey. Lots of good information. I just bought the Study Guide from www.cciewritten.bigstep.com It's missing a few topics, but for the price, it's definitely worth it. Has anyone used this webpage before.. Are their white pages worth the purchase? Will the information be usefull after I get my CCNA and want to pursue the CCNP 2.0 track? RE: CertificationZone.com
Certificationzone.com is an excellent resource for cisco certifications. I believe that they are working on a CCNP section, but many of the white papers in both the CCNA and CCIE zone are relevant. I used the site to prepare for my CCIE written and my actual score was within 5 points of what I received with Certificationzone's simulated exam. After, I joined we had a number of people interested at work and they ended up saving some money by getting a group membership so if you have other co-workers studying you may want to look at the pricing. I paid full price and it has been worth every cent. Regards, Aaron K.
