Re: Cisco 3920 in CCIE Lab?
Hi Frank, We're 'rolling out' a full set of labs in January, there'll probably be 1 or 2 free ones, and you are right the price of lab rental is also set to increase cheers Nnanna Obuba www.nantech.com Online lab for CCIE Preparation - Original Message - From: "Frank Wells" [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Friday, December 01, 2000 5:51 PM Subject: Re: Cisco 3920 in CCIE Lab? Hey Nnanna, Have you drawn up any labs for learning this stuff? Might be good for a little more business if you do. Charge an extra $20.00 and throw in a decent lab or two...just a thought! Re: Cisco 3920 in CCIE Lab?
It's on the equipment list and it is fair game (from experience in SJ). If you review the docs on cisco.com on configuration, etc that should provide enough information on how the device operates and is configured. --- Tim Ross [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: Is a 3920 still used in the CCIE Lab? Re: Cisco 3920 in CCIE Lab?
The TokenRing switch WS-C3920, although part of the ccie Lab, it is a very BAD investment for a homelab. If Cisco drops it ( that I presume will shortly ), it will not be even worth the electricity it consumes. Other boxes that we collect, like 2500s, 5000s, 2900s are alive and will be around for a while. 3920 is on a life support. Stay away from it! FYI, huge Proteon token ring switches with 84 ports, are sold for under $10.00 on ebay. A. RE: Cisco 3920 in CCIE Lab?
Yes, it is part of the lab in RTP. As such all of its capabilities are in play as potential lab subjects. You might look for a Catalyst 1800 instead, it is also a menu based OS that supports 802.5r for direct connect token ring and will give you a good idea of what to expect on the 3920. (In other words, I have not been asked to do anything in the lab with the 3920 that is not part of the capabilities of the 1800 - so if you know one, you can use the other).
