Hi there.... [7:4129]

2001-05-10 Thread [EMAIL PROTECTED]

I am going to be starting up the ladder in the Cisco path. I want to
basically take my CCNA and then CCNP. I have already purchased some
equipment, however I was wondering what other equipment, adapters, wires,
cables whatever it may be...would I need.

Here is what I currently have:

TWO 2501
ONE 2503
ONE 2514
ONE 804 ISDN router
ONE 1924EN switch
ONE Teltone ISDN simulator
TWO Adtran ACE NT-1

Do I need anything else before I start? Please e-mail me at
[EMAIL PROTECTED] leave me your thoughts.

thank you very much

no! don't wait on equipment to start, start now! you have plenty to keep
you busy for a while. There are no hard and fast rules as far as
equipment and what is the "best", but let me offer you some advise. I
would get my hands on a 2513, excellent router for the lab since it has
token and ethernet in one box. A 2901/2926T/5000 series switch would be a
good addition, as well as a ISL/dot1q capible router (2620 is a good
choice there, $1200 or so and works well, and can be used with voice).

2001-05-11 Thread Sean C.

Hi ClickKeys,

You have a rockin' little lab for just starting out. Extremely jealous of
the ISDN simulator! Brian is correct, you have plenty to start your lab.
At somepoint you'll want to look at getting a 2509-2512 to use as a terminal
access server. A lot of people get a 2520-2523 to use as a frame-relay
switch. And, like Brian wrote you'll want to look into acquiring a catalyst
(the 2901 uses the same IOS as the 5000's - they're on the lab). Cables and
such you can get from E-bay.

Good luck,
