This was a big thread over the winter. You will need a null modem cable
- these can be purchased at most electronic or computer stores. Pinouts
for the null modem cable can also be found on Cisco's web by doing a
search for null modem cable.

Subject: Pinout for older cat1900 switch [7:7029]
Does anyone know the pinouts or the connectors/cables you would use on the
older 1900 catalyst switch with the DB-9 connector as the console port. I
have been to the cisco site and it seems I can use regular DB-9 connectors
with a rollover cable but it doesnt work. Maybe there is a trick to them.
Any help would be appreciated.
TIA!
