RE: CBAC and Firewall IOS on 1720 ADSL Internet Router [7:9813]
This is in no way a Flame Phil, but IMHO I feel it would be much more beneficial and certainly educational to understand and learn how the IOS commands and configurations work. That's the only way we learn. ConfigMaker will make you "dumb" for lack of a better word. You don't learn anything from using configmaker and it has its limitations. If you wanted to learn and understand how to subnet, would you use an IP Subnetting calculator or would you learn decimal-binary, binary-decimal conversions so you could do it on paper? In my eyes, that's how we learn. -C -Original Message- From: Circusnuts [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Monday, June 25, 2001 1:14 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: CBAC and Firewall IOS on 1720 ADSL Internet Router [7:9813] Have you tried ConfigMaker ??? - Original Message - From: "john jones" To: Sent: Monday, June 25, 2001 3:58 PM Subject: CBAC and Firewall IOS on 1720 ADSL Internet Router [7:9813] > All, > > I am looking for configuration examples of CBAC and > Firwall IOS 12.2.2. Re: CBAC and Firewall IOS on 1720 ADSL Internet Router [7:9813]
Allows you to build the config in just a few minutes. I've been using the IP/FW for almost a year now & have always meant to figure out how everything works. The new Cisco Security book devotes a good chapter to this IOS, the CCO is mediocre @ best.
