Re: Cisco 7000 RP flash card

2000-12-06 Thread Brian

I know it says that, but we have ran 7000's for a long time with no metal
sleeve. Just make sure you buy the right flash cards.

I think it's the thing that looks like a piece of metal masking tape along
the edge/border of the card. The edge I'm talking about is on the section
of the card that you push on when you insert the flash card, not the side
with the pins.

RE: Cisco 7000 RP flash card

2000-12-06 Thread Daniel Cotts

Its part number is SLV-FCC-RP. List price is $25. It holds a regular Flash
card in the slot of an RP. On the 7500 series RSP the Flash cards are deeply
inserted. To remove there is an eject button. On the 7000 RP the Flash card
is only inserted an inch or less. It needs the special sleeve to keep it in
place. Could you put a Flash card in an RP without the sleeve? Most likely.

Watch the word wrap. There is a picture of the sleeve.
I bought one on eBay. Bought another from Comstor. They in turn had to
special order it from Cisco.
