2001-08-14 Thread Donald B Johnson jr

Big mistake George, well that depends on what you mean by a long break. I
made a huge mistake by taking a long break. I got my CCN/DP on 12/27/00,
left BSCN for last so they both fell on the same day. I convinced myself
that a little break was in order, so I didn't crack a book until July. It
has been a long hard road back to be able to pass the written. You really
forget all those little test tid-bits that are so relevant in every day
operation. I feel that with two or three weeks of study I could have passed
the written if I would of kept the momentum going in Dec. The only redeeming
fact from this situation is that I didn't stop labbing out everyday so I
will take the lab 6-8 months after passing the written. But it has been a
long battle putting all those facts back in my head. So if you are going to
pursue your CCIE after obtaining your CCN/DP you may want to get your
written before taking a break. Even if you don't want to take the written
right away because of the "passed Written Must attempt Lab timing thing" you
should still read so that the information stays current. Ahh I'm rambling!!!
