RE: pcmcia flash memory card for 2501 [7:63741]
I have 4 2500 series routers and not a one of them has a pcmcia slot on it.I know the 16xx routers use pcmcia falsh cards but I have yet to see a 2500 with a pcmcia slot. HTH Don K. RE: pcmcia flash memory card for 2501 [7:63741]
Certain models of 2501 have a PCMCIA slot inside the case. I have never tried to use it, though, and I do not know what it's for. I have always assumed that it was just a holdover from some older implementation and Cisco just kept using those boards until the supplies ran out. But I don't know that for sure. RE: pcmcia flash memory card for 2501 [7:63741]
Don You may want to take the cover off of the 2500s and have a look at the front right hand side of the motherboard. There is definitely something there that looks like a pcmcia slot. I dont know anything more than that, if it works, how it is used, but it is definitely there :-) Regards Peter Walker --On 25 February 2003 17:13 + Don Kanicki wrote: I have 4 2500 series routers and not a one of them has a pcmcia slot on it.I know the 16xx routers use pcmcia falsh cards but I have yet to see a 2500 with a pcmcia slot. It was said that originally Cisco intended to use PCMCIA slot for update later. But that's haven't happened. I read from Cisco doc, it says the slot never been populated. But I can't find the link, sorry. cheers, tu do. I have seen a few posts where they say the flash can be upgraded this way. Any thoughts on that?tu do wrote: It was said that originally Cisco intended to use PCMCIA slot for update later.
