RE: Cisco Netacad for 640-603 [7:52358]
I took this, and the Cisco Press CCNP BSCN Certification Study Guide. I found that doing the 640-603 was probably the best thing I did to prepare (other then practice labs) The interactive labs were great, and if you make note cards of everything you feel is important while going through the course you will pass. It had been a year between my CCNA and when I studied for 640-603 and I had forgotten most everything, and had not touched a router since then. This course was a great refresher and helped me pass the exam my first time. - Brian -Original Message- From: Jason Weden [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Friday, August 30, 2002 7:57 AM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Cisco Netacad for 640-603 [7:52358] Hello, Was wondering if anyone has taken the Cisco Network Academy semester-long course (sem. 5) for 640-603 (Routing)? If so, did you find it alone was a good prep for the exam? Well, I went though the version 1 of Semester 5 and there was so much info dumped on you, you have to be dedicated to studying the material and put forth the effort to keep up. This one is definately not a blow off class. I did pass the 640-503 so I am not sure what the 603 test is like. I do know I studied harder for that test than any others and got the lowest score on it than any other cert test I took to get my CCNP (865). Re: Cisco Netacad for 640-603 [7:52358]
I got my CCNA through the network academy. Cisco has some great stats on their networking academy program. The best part of which is that those who go through and complete the netacad typically score in the top 10% of those who take the respective Cisco tests. In looking into the subject when I first started, I discovered that the netacad is actually geared toward collegiate level education and therefore is very intense study. Just my opinion on it. I have all 8 netacad semesters on CD. :) Message Posted at: http://www.groupstudy.com/form/read.php?f=7&i=52372&t=52358 -- FAQ, list archives, and subscription info: http://www.groupstudy.com/list/cisco.html Report misconduct and Nondisclosure violations to [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Jason, I am a instructor who teaches all eight semesters of the Cisco Networking Academy so I guess my opinion may not be worth much, but I feel the curriculum is great and only getting better. Do be careful though, as it was stated by some others, the classes are very intense and encompass a lot of both in class and out of class work. I'm sure it will be well worth it when your done.
