Thanks. I've started the CCNP route now so will finish that before trying to move on. I took the BCMSN exam first. Many folks use the exhaustive study for ccnp as a reason to go try the written very shortly thereafter.. You definitely need to go through the CCNP route proir to taking the CCIE written. You must also be sound in networking issues and not just cisco related.
