RE: Help me on my CCNA Design Project [7:48715]
First of all, if you feel you need routing at gigabit-speeds, you probably need layer 3 switching. A Cat 4000 or 6500 with an RSM would do nicely. Of course, if this is anything but on paper, you've probably priced yourself out of the market. As for the GBIC question... Are you talking about the 2 connectors on a fiber GBIC? If so, you need both for one connection. One is transmit and the over is receive and they need to cross; Tx to Rx, Rx to Tx. Can you please past the part number of your GBIC module? -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]]On Behalf Of Irwan Hadi Sent: Monday, July 15, 2002 7:30 AM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: Help me on my CCNA Design Project [7:48715] On Sat, Jul 13, 2002 at 08:13:02AM +, Ross Wood wrote: > At the moment I am doing a design project for my CCNA classes. Well what is your uplink to your ISP ? if your uplink is only ISDN 64 Kbps, it is useless to use a router that supports gigabit interface.
