Hello Erick ,
Thanks for your response ...this Ethernet Interface i am talking about which
is having the problem  is connected to Layer 4 Alteon Switch .

Any takers for this.

Some ideas for when this happens.

Get a sniffer trace during time of problem and see
whats going on. 

Record 'show interface' stats on the interface(s)
before the problem occurs and after it occurs compare
and see what the differences are (errors,
