I did this for a client against my better judgement and wrote it up as such. DSL around here has not been stable enough and I've had a few cases where the telco disconnected the DSL line without saying anything. When asked about it, they replied they had not seen any traffic and *assumed* it was a dead line.
And yes, they have had 3 failures of the DSL so far in the last 6 months. Twice when they actually needed it.. once during testing. Some of this is from the DSL company changing hands several times in the last year.
