Re[2]: CCNP ReCert Questions [7:72071]

2003-07-10 Thread Karen E Young
If you check Cisco's website, you'll see that the old Foundation exam and
both the CCNP recert and the CCDP recert all go offline on September 7th.
The new test (642-891) will replace them and comes online on August 7th.

The current CCNP and CCDP recerts will no longer be offered after September
7th. Just the Composite.

Here's the notice:

Re[2]: CCNP ReCert Questions [7:72071]

2003-07-11 Thread Karen E Young
John,

Your best bet is to take either the composite exam or the recert exam. Both
will get you recertified and both are only one exam rather than 4. If you
can wait until the composite exam comes online (August 7th) that one may be
best since it looks like it will recertify both CCNP and CCDP at the same
time. I'm planning on taking the composite myself.

If you do have to do all four test, I'd suggest taking the foundation and
the CIT bt you'll have to be quick since the foundation is being phased out
on September 7th. After that its the composite, BCRAN, and CIT.

Re[2]: CCNP ReCert Questions [7:72071]

2003-07-14 Thread Karen E Young
Simon,

Careful there! Don't mistake MLS for MPLS. Two different animals entirely.
MLS is Multi-Layer Switching and is strictly a LAN technology while MPLS
(Multi-Protocol Label Switching) is predominantly used in the WAN.

Here's some stuff on MPLS.
http://www.convergedigest.com/Bandwidth/archive/010910TUTORIAL-rgallaher1.htm
http://www.mplsrc.com/
http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/732/Tech/mpls/mpls_presentations.shtml
http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/732/Tech/mpls/mpls_techdoc.shtml

Cisco Networkers 2001 Power session on MPLS:
http://www.cisco.com/networkers/nw01/pres/pr/542/

Also, if you go to http://www.webtorials.com, you'll see a link for "MPLScon
2003 Conference Presentation Handouts". You'll need a Webtorials account but
they're free. The links for creating an account or signing in are up at the
top of the page. This is one of the best places to look since the
information goes into a bit more depth than that on most sites.

Hope this helps,

Karen
