I think running IBGP follow by EBGP will solve the
problems of thinking how to restribute IGP routes

  Hello,
I have configured 3 routers with BGP.RTA and
 RTB are in AS100...RTC on
  AS300
RTA has netw. 150.10.0.0 configed on Loopback0
RTB netw. 160.10.0.0 and RTC netw. 170.10.0.0
 likewise
RTC connected to RTA and RTA connected to RTB
Have the networks advertised on each router
Have the redistribute connected configed on RTA
Also have RIP running b/w RTA and RTB with
 networks 150.10.0.0 and
160.10.0.0 configed. Have the redistribute rip
 command on RTA
  Problem is:
Cannot ping 160.10.0.1 from RTC and
  Cannot ping 160.10.0.1 from RTA
  Cannot ping 170.10.0.1 from RTB

I took out rip and configured static routes on RTA
 and RTB and the
redistribute static command on RTA...Still same
 problem.

Question is: What is the trick to redistribute
 IGP or static routes to
 BGP
so that RTC can get those networks?? Please
 advise.

  Thank you.
  Kind regards.

What are your BGP neighbor relationships showing? What do you see when you
issue a show ip bgp? or a show ip bgp sum?

Oh!! So RTC and RTB needs to have #no synchI'll try that .Yes,
RTA is running EBGP with RTC and IBGP with RTB.RTA just does not know
how to redistribute RTB's netw to RTC and vice-versa.Even though a
#sh ip route and a #sh ip bgp shows all 3 networks on all 3
routers...Just cannot ping RTB from RTC and vice-versa..

Re: Redistributing IGP's to BGP NOT working!! [7:19706]

2001-09-13 Thread MADMAN

No, if no synch is needed it would be on the two IBGP peers so that
they will inject EBGP routes into their BGP routing table without having
an equvilent IGP route entry. If your seeing all the routes in your
routing tables it doesn't sound like a synch issue but synchronization
is unrealistic today since it expects the redistribution of BGP routes
into your IGP.
