It is becoming an irritation that what some consider history, I consider
memories.

Dylan.

Very best, (getting ready for those geriatric wheel-chair races) G.

Some networks go back before classic rock. Fond remembrances:

"This LAN is your LAN", Pete Seeger
"If I had a token, I'd ring it in the morning" Peter Paul & Mary
"The Ballad of MTA" Kingston Trio, for email troubleshooters

Commercials also made their contributions:

"Ring around the collar" should cover 802.5 and FDDI
"I'd rather fight than switch" -- the last resort of a pure router person
"Where's the beef?" is a reasonable metaphor for traceroute

I believe the artist is Bob Zimmerman, of the Bob Zimmerman and the Hawks fame.

Go 'way from my window,
Leave at your own chosen speed.
I'm not the one you want, babe,
I'm not the one you need.
You say you're lookin' for someone
Never weak but always strong,
To protect you an' defend you
Whether you are right or wrong,
Someone to open each and every door,
But it ain't me, babe,
No, no, no, it ain't me, babe,
It ain't me you're lookin' for, babe.

Joe
