RE: Router Simulators software [7:29147]

2001-12-14 Thread festus taferi

hi rodel,
i saw your write up and i just want to let you know that the routerSim 3.0
is the better option. this is because it comes with more functionalities
that enables you to practice more complex scenarios. with more routers and
switches inside it.

2001-12-14 Thread jon kintner

does the router sim 3.0 for the CCNA cert cover the topics covered in the
CCNP cert.. CCNA didn't cover EIGRP, OSPF, BGP, route summarization, CIDR,
or VLSM.
I just bombed the hell out of my cisco netacad sem 5 practical tonight...
I'd like to pick up a sim, but I'd rather not waste money on something
that's not going to give me the full functionality...

Router Simulators software [7:29147]

2001-12-13 Thread Rodel Usam

Hello all,

I found that there are 2 main router simulation software. RouterSIM 3.0 or
CCNA Virtual Lab e-Trainer. Anyone know which is better?? Also, there are
different versions of RouterSIM from http://www.routersim.com

CCNASim 3.0
CCNP#8482; RoutingSim Version 1.0

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks all

Rodel

If you decide to purchase one or the other, try
www.bookpool.com. I bought one there a year ago for about
half price.

Hi,Keith
IMHO, the Router Simulator is just toy, I think you'd better
add another 25xx to your lab for the BSCN, and buy the "All in one
CCIE lab study guide",you can done most of labs in the book with three
2500s.
  Just my $0.02

Tony,

Will a 2502 (token ring) and a 2507 or 2509 (ethernet) be enough for the
BCRAN exam. I will like you $0.02. Thanks

Router Simulators

2000-09-03 Thread Lori S Carter

I searched the archives but found nothing on router simulators. Just curious if anyone
has used them and if they're any good for CCNP preparation. I was out to the RouterSim
site and it's tempting to purchase because you're able to configure about four routers
and two switches. Any information would be appreciated.

Routersim is an appalingly miserable product. Go to
http://www.simrouter.com and train on real routers.
