as far as switching goes, (that's as far as I got with my CCNP)
you will need to perform similar functions in catOS and native IOS.

Getting a switch that will run catOS will not be cheap.

you might need to look at virtual labs i.e. renting rack space

Typical Lab for CCNP [7:70342]

Hi;
I am going to arrange a basic home lab to prepare myself for CCNP.My ulimate
goal will be CCIE. I do know that CCNP does not have a lab exam, but I think
hands on will help much to pass the exam.
I already have one 1924, two 2507 (which is 2501+ethernet), and one 2520. 
Do I need anything else at this stage for some hands on CCNP? What will I
need at the next step?
I appreciate any comment.
