Well I'll be damned  I loaded 12.2.11T on a 7206 and simply did:

MADVXR(config)#router bgp 1
MADVXR(config-router)#network 1.0.0.0
MADVXR(config-router)#^Z
MADVXR#sh conf | beg router bgp
router bgp 1
 no synchronization
 bgp log-neighbor-changes
 network 1.0.0.0
 no auto-summary

  Now can we get auto sumary disabled by default in EIGRP!?

Is it me, or is no-sync the default in BGP in 12.2.11T?
