RE: routers for home lab
Do not forget that practicing with reverse telnet is HANDY for the lab (do not kill me if I am not right) so a 2509/11 would do great, only it has 2s and 1e. I am getting pretty used to telnetting into my 4 other routers/1 switch trough my 2511.. octal cable. Believe ccieprep.com has a labdocument where they state the use of the reverse telnetting, also every CCIE book comes back on the subject. Re: routers for home lab
That looks like a pretty good start. When you do some larger lab scenarios you will probably need a few more. In the end I had 9 routers in my home lab. The ccbootcamp labs have several labs with 8-9 routers. If I was you I would add a 2502. You can get them real cheap and you'll have another token ring router besides your 2523. If you got the money you could add a router with voice like a 1750 or a 2600.
