Re: site-to-site VPN connection [7:9081]

Q1. Yes, and it's relatively simple because two Cisco routers have the same
default values for the crypto attributes, so the 'tunnel' comes right up if
the pre-shared keys are the same.

Q2. I don't know because I've never done it between 2 PIXes.

Hey all, has anyone configured a site to site VPN configuration via two
routers before? Is it the same basic configuration as a site-to-site VPN
via
 two PIX's?

   Thank you!

RE: site-to-site VPN connection [7:9081]

2001-06-20 Thread McMasters, Eric

Setting up site to site w/two PIXes is very similar to setting it w/two
routers. You can even setup router to pix if you wanted to. If you go to
Cisco and do a search on pix to pix vpn it will come back with
configuration examples. I have set it up w/pix to pix and router to pix,
but not router to router. I don't think there is much difference. I've
even help setup a Checkpoint to PIX VPN connection, but that is a different
story. Hope this helps!
