We also run Jabber without IM&P. In this configuration, Jabber does
not even provide any indication to the user that it could ever
conceivably support IM, which is good, because we do not intend to
support it.

We don't have an IM&P server so I'm assuming it isn't needed and you only need
an expressway for remote access. We used the mobile clients internally on wifi
networks before COVID and added that later.

Thanks, another issue with the jabber client is what you mention. The lack of
additional lines. We need something that works more like a softphone and less
like an IM client.

We run android and ios phone only jabber clients over expressway MRA and
have had a pretty positive experience on it. It runs very similar to phone
only jabber on windows with the major missed feature for us being the lack
of additional lines available on the jabber for mobile.

Last I tried it still required an IM presence server would entail a large
infrastructure cost because even if we disable IM, FINRA would require us to
still have archiving done in case it got turned back on.

Pretty sure you can run Jabber in phone-only mode these days. Not sure on the

I'm not the most experienced with SIP profiles, so I won't comment on that.
Maybe you could use translation profiles on the cube instead, to change the
calling party to something else?
