We are currently working on filling an exciting new contract opportunity for an *Lead Java Developer* position that will be based out in *Marlborough, MA*. *Job Title: Lead Java Developer* *Location: Marlborough, MA* *Duration: 6-12+ Months* *MUST HAVE MINIMUM 10 YEARS EXPERIENCE AND SHOULD HAVE FINANCIAL INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE* *Keys to the position:* · 10+ years of hands-on development using core Java, J2EE, Spring with multi-threaded and real-time systems · 5+ years of experience managing software development teams and managing solution delivery · Must be able to work in Marlborough and this role may relocate to Boston later in the year. · Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. *Qualifications* · Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering subject plus ten (10) years of experience in hands-on software development and delivery experience in a commercial environment: · 10+ years of hands-on development using core Java, J2EE, Spring with multi-threaded and real-time systems · 5+ years of experience managing software development teams and managing solution delivery · 5+ years of experience managing the application technical stack, including horizontal and vertical packages. · The ability and willingness to work effectively in a business-critical production environment · Strong analytical and communication skills, both written and verbal are required · Demonstrated ability to partner closely with Business Analysts and Business teams · Demonstrated ability in coaching and building world class development teams · Must be comfortable with test-driven development and continuous integration · Solid PL/SQL programming and SQL tuning skills · In-depth knowledge and experience of the Spring Framework · Strong understanding and proven experience with technologies such as Web-Services, XML/XSLT, JSON is required · Experience in Financial Industry is preferred · Experience with AWS is a plus *The position* The Compliance Systems team is responsible for providing solutions that meet our guideline monitoring obligations. This is a critical function for the investment and trading process to protect the firm from investment errors. In addition, the regulatory environment is under constant pressure and this team provides solutions that ensure Wellington is compliant and able to respond quickly to a regulator’s request. Members of the team play critical roles in our firm’s success by providing technology solutions which improve the quality, speed, and efficiency of a highly complex industry with a sophisticated client base. It is our strong belief that the tools developed by the Compliance Systems team differentiate us from our competitors in the financial industry. *Responsibilities* Oversight of the technical design, build, implementation, testing, maintenance, and enhancement of the complex applications used by Wellington’s Guideline Monitoring and Portfolio Monitoring teams Partner with Business Analysts to identify and document business requirements for new capabilities. This includes working closely with the Guideline Monitoring business team and managing relationships with business owners. Technical analysis of business requirements to provide technical designs, project estimates, and manage technical delivery. The role requires hands-on development, problem resolution, knowledge of the software applications and various horizontal and vertical packages - spanning across all layers in the technical stack. Partner with in-house application and data architects to implement system requirements Team management responsibilities include the recruiting, supervision, and development of staff and consultants.
